GENESIS 2:5-17

5. Now no shrub of the field was yet in the earth, and no plant of the field had yet sprouted, for the LORD God had not sent rain upon the earth, and there was no man to cultivate the ground. 6. But a mist used to rise from the earth and water the whole surface of the ground. 7. Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. 8. The LORD God planted a garden toward the east, in Eden; and there He placed the man whom He had formed. 9. Out of the ground the LORD God caused to grow every tree that is pleasing to the sight and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. 10. Now a river flowed out of Eden to water the garden; and from there it divided and became four rivers. 11. The name of the first is Pishon; it flows around the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. 12. The gold of that land is good; the bdellium and the onyx stone are there. 13. The name of the second river is Gihon; it flows around the whole land of Cush. 14. The name of the third river is Tigris; it flows east of Assyria. And the fourth river is the Euphrates. 15. Then the LORD God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it. 16. The LORD God commanded the man, saying, ``From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; 17. but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die."

2 THESSALONIANS 3:6-16

6. Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from every brother who leads an unruly life and not according to the tradition which you received from us. 7. For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example, because we did not act in an undisciplined manner among you, 8. nor did we eat anyone's bread without paying for it, but with labor and hardship we kept working night and day so that we would not be a burden to any of you; 9. not because we do not have the right to this, but in order to offer ourselves as a model for you, so that you would follow our example. 10. For even when we were with you, we used to give you this order: if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either. 11. For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies. 12. Now such persons we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to work in quiet fashion and eat their own bread. 13. But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary of doing good. 14. If anyone does not obey our instruction in this letter, take special note of that person and do not associate with him, so that he will be put to shame. 15. Yet do not regard him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother. 16. Now may the Lord of peace Himself continually grant you peace in every circumstance. The Lord be with you all!

2 CORINTHIANS 8:1-7

1. Now, brethren, we wish to make known to you the grace of God which has been given in the churches of Macedonia, 2. that in a great ordeal of affliction their abundance of joy and their deep poverty overflowed in the wealth of their liberality. 3. For I testify that according to their ability, and beyond their ability, they gave of their own accord, 4. begging us with much urging for the favor of participation in the support of the saints, 5. and this, not as we had expected, but they first gave themselves to the Lord and to us by the will of God. 6. So we urged Titus that as he had previously made a beginning, so he would also complete in you this gracious work as well. 7. But just as you abound in everything, in faith and utterance and knowledge and in all earnestness and in the love we inspired in you, see that you abound in this gracious work also.

LEVITICUS 27:30-34

30. `Thus all the tithe of the land, of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD'S; it is holy to the LORD. 31. `If, therefore, a man wishes to redeem part of his tithe, he shall add to it one-fifth of it. 32. `For every tenth part of herd or flock, whatever passes under the rod, the tenth one shall be holy to the LORD. 33. `He is not to be concerned whether it is good or bad, nor shall he exchange it; or if he does exchange it, then both it and its substitute shall become holy. It shall not be redeemed.'" 34. These are the commandments which the LORD commanded Moses for the sons of Israel at Mount Sinai.

COLOSSIANS 3:12-17

12. So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; 13. bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. 14. Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. 15. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16. Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17. Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

PSALM 103:1-5

1. Bless the LORD, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name. 2. Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits; 3. Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases; 4. Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; 5. Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle. 6. The LORD performs righteous deeds And judgments for all who are oppressed. 7. He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the sons of Israel. 8. The LORD is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness. 9. He will not always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever. 10. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. 11. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him. 12. As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. 13. Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him. 14. For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust. 15. As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes. 16. When the wind has passed over it, it is no more, And its place acknowledges it no longer. 17. But the lovingkindness of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children's children, 18. To those who keep His covenant And remember His precepts to do them. 19. The LORD has established His throne in the heavens, And His sovereignty rules over all. 20. Bless the LORD, you His angels, Mighty in strength, who perform His word, Obeying the voice of His word! 21. Bless the LORD, all you His hosts, You who serve Him, doing His will. 22. Bless the LORD, all you works of His, In all places of His dominion; Bless the LORD, O my soul!
